Carl has written for numerous TV and Radio shows in the UK, notably The Armstrong and Miller Show (BBC1), Dead Ringers (BBC2) and Headcases (ITV1). For radio, he is currently writing and performing in Listen Against (Radio 4).

He is also heavily involved in children's television, as one of the lead writers of The Legend of Dick and Dom (BBC1 / CBBC), a writer for Hounded (BBC1), Trapped! (BBC1) and numerous other shows. He was jointly shortlisted for the Bafta Break-through Talent Award 2010

Carl frequently collaborates with Tony Cooke on many of these shows as part of the writing partnership Carter and Cooke.
